March. comes in like a lamb...

So I start the month weighing 223.4 pounds, my blood pressure is 111/78 heart rate 41.

I find news on FaceBook that the grandfather of young people I met in Idaho has passed on to his reward and joined his wife in Heaven, I turned off that computer and finished my morning start. My wife decided to make blue berry pancakes, and I should have stopped eating them at five, but did nine and put two away for snacking later. I did knock out twenty-one reps of the basic three twice, then finished with eleven more - so I covered the fifty reps of the basic three, the day looks very good for long jogging and after a nap to sleep the pancakes into digested sugars, I will write my mother.

I do my exercises, 21x3 twicem then 11x3, but I talk myself into delay on getting out to jog, since the promise of sunshine is for the afternoon. It was a faulty promise, but what kept me wrong was watching television, when I finally finished I walked away from Laura Croft and rode the motorcycle to the Post Office to drop off my mother's letter about FarmVille fools (my sisters and I) and one book to read and one word puzzle.

I told myself I would get exercise by cutting the grass in the front yard, which I did get accomplished, need to sharpen the blades, but I didn't trim and I must kill all that moss, the yard has been conquered. If I were single I would keep the moss, but I like being married so I will kill it. Or beat it back. Television again got in the way of good exercise NCIS and Mondaynight RAW of the WWE, the Diva Pillow fight as fun. Everything else talk about Wrestlemania in twenty-seven days.

Retirement means...

Well, it does mean that you got off the hamster wheel of normal life, and have lots of time for one's own stuff. So I have been reading, and that is better than FarmVille ForEver. Still I find I need an internal Drill Sergeant to ensure that everyday I am doing all those things I need to get done to be a better fellow. Yesterday I found my mind gone, I was looking for a bottle of Crestor pills I had just picked up. I was looking for the old type bottle, and didn't look for the label. By the end of a frazzled day looking I read the labels and found that it was all where it should have been.

Today my weight is 226 pounds, that is too much, I will have to seriously work on it and the schedule of my life today - otherwise nothing good is going to happen. The blood pressure is 127/87 with a heart rate of 42 bpm, and I am smiling.

No One misses my efforts except me...

My mind drives the body to the recliner, the television and the computer seem to have my daily fix just waiting my attention. So of course I am falling into fat sloth-like hanging around waiting for the leopard to find me and be hungry enough to climb up after me. Seems like I lack discipline, doing the right thing when no one save self is watching.

Okay, woke at seven or so and began today.

Weight is 223.8 pounds, BP is 133/79 Hr 40 bpm.
Devotions, medicines, computer check

Have to really start somewhere...

Here I am, hear me roar... meek and weak, will have to work on weak this week. Isn't English a lovely language? Today, 216.6 pounds, BP 148/88 heart rate 40 bpm. Prayer, pooh, pills and now to make the coffee and hit the treadmill, ugly sweats worn. Polished my shoes and straightened (just a bit) of the garage, major stuff still to do, throw it away, throw the excess away! I stopped to use the toilet bowl at seventeen minutes remaining, my body is talking to me, it needs much more work, much less recliner and chairs. So forty minutes on the treadmill, program with five pound dumb bells in each hand, then ten minutes on the HealthRider for arms, back and thighs.
Only the fifty reps to do after breakfast, the walk to the dock and dry firing tonight with cat stretches - that recliner is going to be such a big problem. I do know that intentions are good but execution is the only thing that will bring desired results.

Yeah, I am still here... on the road or treadmill...

Have to do it, Hamster on the spinning wheel, don't run gets fat and sluggish and goes into hibernation, has to run for his life depends on it.

treadmill for forty minutes with five pound dumb bells and good attitude, sweat and thoughts last night and today. logged it and recorded it and working on cleaning up my life and nests at work and home, have to hit the grass and leaves in the yard and hang some Christmas decorations. I am so far behind.

One hour and forty seconds, road work...

I felt so good yesterday after my jog on the walk to the dock that I thought I should think about doing it much more often. Still haven't talked myself into my best behavior, haven't started weights and exercises with body weight, but it is coming as I wake my body up and feel better.

Yesterday I jogged thirty-nine minutes and 59 seconds, today I did longer one hour and forty seconds, and I think the consistency is going to be the thing I have to regain. If my mother had walked vigorously her whole life she would be better, but she sat too well. If she had swum longer and farther, it would have been better for her. Telling a human being that exercise is a critical portion of one's life and life style, just doesn't happen. But I will keep repeating the message until everyone gets it. I am so boring. All the good things in life mean that one has to be there for them.

Well, if I lost four pounds over night....

Then hitting the road hard on Sunday would dissolve a couple of more pounds, but I don't really expect it - just some solid no gain of weight. I do jog in the afternoon, almost dusk, reflector belt and bright yellow sweatshirt. Come home and then later do thirty minutes on the treadmill with five pound dumb bells.
